Ashanti Discloses Pregnancy & Engagement To Her Just Reunited Lover

For months, Ashanti and Nelly have been the subject of incessant rumors that they are expecting their first child together.

Speculation began when the reunited lovebirds made a motion toward the diva’ stomach onstage. Of course, this caused their supporters to believe they were expecting a child, which Ashanti just added to with her series of loose-fitting outfits.

Fortunately, Ashanti has officially revealed her pregnancy, so there is no more room for conjecture. She did so by posting an Instagram ad for a company that specializes in at-home family planning products. In the entertaining video, Ashanti is seen taking a pregnancy test in her dressing room, amidst the hustle and bustle of backstage. When asked how long it will take her to be stage-ready, she responds, “I’ll need about nine months.”

Fans can’t get enough of the sweet news, and they couldn’t be happier for her and Nelly. As expected, numerous fans have filled her comments section with love and support. “Baby baby baby baby…. ❤️🙏🏽😆,” she captioned the adorable video. While it’s uncertain when her child will arrive, the happy couple has more to look forward to than just a baby. In an interview with Essence today, Ashanti confirmed that she and Nelly are engaged.
